A reworking of a digital painting I did last year. I did a sketch for the painting, and the final result was very different. This is closer to the original design. The lilipad shaped towers were built in max, rendered in brazil, everything else was painted in photoshop, the rocks, the background, the ships, etc.
Wow, this is great stuff!!!
Amazing concept. The use of light through dusty air really gives a strong mood to the piece.
oh. this is incredibly cool.
This is amazing all your work feel so alien but realistic its like i can totally imagine this being a real alien city.
Wow! I really love this!
You are very creative. Incredible work. Realistic.
Thanks Sparks, glad you dig my stuff!
Such a amazig atmosphere on this one! great concept
The sheer size of them is breathtaking. Amazing work.
Excellent work man
cool concept and image!
looks great soulburn, i love the bloom and atmosphere especially
Oooh! Love this - so alien so unususal, so errie!!!
Cool! they sorta remind me of tornadoes, or maybe mushrooms or some other type of fungus. Very organic and natural shapes for buildings. I am left wondering how they stay balanced, but I like to imagine there's something really cool on top, or at least a bowl that catches their water supply
Glad you like them. They're sort of fashioned off of lilipads, so the majority of their bulk is siting on top of the water, with the lower tower area being lighter and more flexible to survive the current. At least that was my thinking, no idea if it would actually work in real life
Oh, I didn't know they were underwater That would make balancing much easier then, and even if they were still too heavy, one could imagine the rim of it having those floaters attached to it like you sometimes see around boats
Ah gotcha. Ya, a few people have said that. I had hoped making the small spaceships more fish like would have helped make it look more underwatery, but some people have said the dirtiness makes it feel more like mist than water. It's all good though
